Bastion, OSTOTY?

Bastion, OSTOTY?

If you have not already, have a listen to this soundtrack. It features a beautifully eclectic mix of styles and some really great musicianship.

Lo-fi electronic drums, sitars, banjos, hip-hop orchestra stabs, distorted electric guitar, eastern percussion, break beats, tablas and strings…all of that’s just in one track. Such is Darren Korbs’ talent to construct frantic and busy music pouring a wide range of influences and styles into one cohesive whole.

On the other end of the spectrum, two stand-out pieces are ‘Build that Wall’ and ‘Mother, I’m Here’ – dry, subtle and memorable melodies performed by just a guitar and singer. Of course the soundtrack is best heard within context of the game so if you have not played Bastion yet I don’t know what you’re thinking by not playing it.
